    Description

Temporary reduction in price for this work of Roman military 'Art of Armor' to 9 for the parts only.  I will also allow you to make payments on it if you need.  If you want a built example, then read below.  This is one of the most beautiful type Attic helmet you will ever see.  It was traditionally worn by Greeks in the Attica area under the Athenians but adopted by the Roman for it's officer core.  That includes Legates (Lagatus), Tribunes,  Consuls,  Prefects, Praetorians and regional Roman commanders such as  Pro-Consuls, Governors (Pontus Pilot), Magistrates and others.  It is the only totally made in America Roman helmet of this high caliber in both detail and quality you can buy any where in the world.  It is ONLY available from me as I am the armorer artist making them.  It is not made in any part in a third world country that has no Classical heritage in the arts or design.  You can buy the complete helmet also with everything done as seen in the silver finish without the black horse hair crest for 98 or buy it piece meal and assemble it yourself and turn it into your own 'Art of Armor' life size Roman Commander's Attic style Officers Helmet which was worn by the Roman Legate, Consul, Tribune, Prefect, Praetorian and even famous commanders like Caesar.  I stopped making these types of helmets over a decade ago due to the extreme cost to me.  I used bronze, silver and gold back then and sold a product that an American bronze foundry would charge 50 for just for the pieces at that time.  I thought that those days were over.  However, I can sell it in the parts only category and do any customizing work for an extra fee.  I have had to turn down many customers in the past who wanted these helmets of mine but they are now back for a limited time, which could end at any time.  I do not guarantee how long they will be available as there was a ten year gap between my last one and this one.  If you indeed are a fan  of this helmet and really want one, I would advise getting it now instead of procrastinating and possibly losing out on your chance to get one.  This new and revised high relief art work Roman officers helmet is a much heavier duty construction then my earlier ones. The helmet weighs around three and half pounds but that can change due to a few factors.  A horse hair crest is heavier then a feathered crest etc.  A horse hair crest with a long horse hair tail also weighs more then one without.  Do you want it padded?  What kind of padding?  Authentic padding cost more like wool fur compared to modern foam is which lighter and cheaper.
Here is what you are buying in this buy it now sale and what will cost extra if you decide to do so.
#1: You are only buying the five bronze parts ONLY that have been silver plated.  They are the helmet dome, the crest box, the visor and the two cheek guards.  No drilling, filling, hole pouching, rivets, washers, hinges, leather ties, lining or horse hair crest or feathered crest are included.  The crest box is included but not the contents.  You can chose from a large verity of different colored horse hair crest with and without tails or different types of feathered crest.  No crest or inside padding or leather chin straps are included in this sale.  They cost extra.
Option A:  On option "A", I will build the basic helmet for you.  That includes the drilling, riveting and construction in the making and attaching the hinge parts plus the work for the cheek guards and the leather cheek guard ties attachment.  It also includes the riveting and mounting of the crest box on top of the helmet, which is a two men job as you will need a helper to help hold the pieces for a correct line up on this part for sure.  This option also includes the mounting and shaping of the visor onto the front and sides of the helmet.  A certain amount of muscle is needed to do this part of the job as some bending and shaping is needed for a perfect looking fit here as the bronze under body does not bend easily.  You will need to do all of this work yourself when you get the helmet parts or you can have me do all of the above mentioned work with the black horse hair crest for ,289.
Option B:  On option " B ", I will mount a head liner into the inside of dome for comfort.  You will need to do this yourself when you get the helmet or you can have me do it for for a quilted linen padding or for sheep skin padding.  Other padding types are also available.
    Option C:  On
option " C ", I will mount a different horse hair crest or feathered crest onto the helmet for you.  I have attached some pictures of crest I have made in the past but I have made many more besides these, which are not pictured.  The prices will vary.  A chart is below to show you these prices.
Crest types: Red horse hair, White horse hair, Black horse hair and Yellow Gold horse hair (for a Roman cavalry officer) crest are 9 extra.  Red and white mixed horse hair, black and white mixed horse hair and red and black mixed horse hair are also 9 each. Regular red feathered crest or white feather crest are 9 each.  My elite styled 'Ostrich Feathered Crest' in either red, or white, or purple,  or Roman navy classes blue or even natural color (light brown and dark brown mixed) can be done for 5 extra.  These are very difficult to bleach and dye red as the ostrich feathering naturally repels water based dyes and are also more expensive to get the right kind.
These prices include the construction and permanent attachment of these crest.  Horse hair tails coming off the back of a crest are available for each.
NOTE:  Not all of the types of crest seen are available all of the time but may be available later.  For example the Purple ostrich feather crest and the Black ostrich feathered crest and not currently available but may be latter.
Option D: This option is for any one who wants their helmet to be completed in a faux gold finish.  This option is 9 extra.
Option E: This option is for those who want their helmet to be totally trimmed in faux gold detailing on all of the raised art work as seen in one of the pictures.  This gold on top of silver two tone look is extremely impressive looking but is extremely time consuming to do.  This option is 9 extra.
These are the most elegant and beautiful Roman officer attic style helmets available in the world and they are only available from me.
