VINTAGE 70's
Rhodochrosite good-luck(as the story goes..)charm-amulet in pendant  form, 1in  , good condition, vintage 70's inventory never worn nor sold. Origin: foothills of the Andes mountain range in Catamarca province, Argentina.
About Rhodochrosite (as a mineral) healing-spitritual-positive energy vibrancy...properties Etc, there is a lot online written on this, books Etc...obviously to each his own, in terms of what one believes or doesn't..
This particular Rhodochrosite pendants carved from was mined in the renowned Capillitas-mine (famous for it's fine Rhodochrosite output for many decades, specially the pink banding-swirl grade ),

and then carved into approx.
1.0inch-figa
with the typical artisan finish of a gemstone pendant handcrafted by
local craftsmen from then

banding , swirls
,
patterns/layers
are in a nice pink-tonality (rare to see) & light-pink tonality intertwined with whitish tones in the pink-figa , deeper pink tonalities etc ....Rhodochrosite is of a very nice grade in terms of personality and banding-swirls etc.
Condition:  good condition, unworn/never retailed piece from older-1970's-inventory.
Brief History: Figas (Feegah) are historically intertwined with good-luck beliefs (ea. country-origin has it's particular connotations...fertility, luck, fortune etc) in several countries, Brazil being the main one that uses this figure-motif very  frequently in their jewelry & charms ...often they are dressed with gems, gold tops, platinum, different gemstones (aqua, lapis, amethyst etc) and are also carved out of wood in an artisan rustic fashion similar to these.These particular ones have that artisan-rustic-finish, with a beautiful rhodochrosite-polish.Figas (particularly in Rhodochrosite) have been connected to positive-energy, spiritual healing etc as written in many books both on figas as an amulet and Rhodochrosite as a mineral...No claims made in this listing, to ea. his own beliefs.Just describing the figure of the Figa Etc
